Donning A New Hat

Dense thicket of shrubs with mixed autumn leaves in red, yellow, and green tones.

The nostalgia of November never leaves me as it has the habit of making me a year older each year. Birthday celebrations being now much more toned down with a weathering grace. Perception now being the playful party piece.

It can be gloomy to think of this dank deep season, but I do see beauty in the overcast skies with mist rising from the very valleys I love to view. From the glorious glowing golds beside the richest of reds, the outrageous oranges shouting out loud, now blending quite nicely with the bronze and the brown. A twilight twinkling reminding me of a youth that fades, replaced gradually with wise wisdom whilst watching everything with windows so wide.  The well-worn hat with all its frays adding an element of charm.

With wedding season well passed its hurry, it’s an opportunity for me to grasp the headwear that feels just right.

It’s been a time to give back and help others. I am humbled to have received two nominations.

I have been nominated and subsequently shortlisted as someone who champions businesses in the local business community. I’m honoured to make the short list and feeling grateful to everyone who has helped me along the way. Everyone in the Barnsley network community is looking forward to the Ask Zoe Small Business Awards on the final Friday of November 2026.

I have also been nominated for being an Ambassador for the Growth Community whose ethos I hold dear. The January date for the Growth Community Awards is in the diary!

As Christmas creeps in a little earlier each year, there is sure to be plenty of seasonal trim around, eloquently established and firm to the ground. Connections and collaborations celebrate these shiny, attractive additions with the hashtag “working together” dancing alongside the cheery Christmas Carol.
