With the marvels of May moving right in, we welcome the warmth, the feast of festivities and all that flowers.
May was named after the Greek goddess Maia who oversaw the flourishing of the floras. It remains one of my favourite months. My lovely granddaughter was born on Mayday Bank holiday, we are truly blessed.
I recall childhood memories of the Mayday Queen as she blossomed when crowned with a garland of flowers. So symbolic was the transition from carefree child play to the ascension of glory on centre stage.
Headwear continues to be ravished by many a flower, whether it be the Bride, the Bride’s mother or mother of the Groom. Styles can vary a great deal from understated and minimalistic to bold and flamboyant. A Bespoke hat made by a Milliner reflects both the personality of the wearer and the outfit they have chosen to wear. Model Millinery being the name of the game.
Hats and fascinators made for the main wedding party along with attendees of the Buckingham Palace Garden Parties make a great conversation starter on these special days and can often leave a long-lasting impression.
Memories, a photo capturing the moment and cheery chitchat provide an extra feather in the cap, especially for the Milliners.
After all there is nothing better than the word of mouth!
