July saw a flower Show here in South Yorkshire making it a great time to flourish.
We parked up for the show at the big house, Wentworth Woodhouse just a few miles from home. An amazing place, the views alone can bring folk right in, but of course, with a flower show it brings so much more. From floral displays to gardens and decor, what a great process to embellish and let our imaginations run wild.
With the theme being very much on green fingers I went all bold with my nails painted grass green, which was also the colour of my outfit. I left my favourite sunhat behind and replaced it with a hat from my box of collectables, a vintage straw boater in great condition.
The Boater has become very popular of late, a wonderful style with an Edwardian feel. This hat has simple clean lines, with a flat crown and flat brim and is so easy to wear. It can be worn straight on the head or at a flattering jaunty angle. Coco Chanel was a great influencer when it came to wearing designs with such ease and many a musician has reached for the Boater.
August is a great time to prepare for the fruits of the harvest to be gathered in, especially when the finish is not too far round the corner. There is something quite magical about the cycle of planting, growing and then reaping the rewards when it all happens!
