Remember Your Sun Hat!

With the holiday season in full swing, there’s usually much to be done before we finally depart to take a break. With very high temperatures recorded for the summer solstice on the hottest day this June, we know only too well it’s best to get your headwear right on hand. Whether it’s your favoured well-worn straw hat or a new purchase for that special occasion whilst on vacation, we must remember to pack the hat! Royal Ascot saw many a big hat, which was just as well as the temperatures soared. The time for the big bold hat paid off well, providing great protection from the ever-blazing sun. Which brings us to the great debate, a hat or fascinator? Interesting to read later that according to Milliner Stephen Jones that “the days of the fascinator are done”. Of course, larger hats come in many forms, the picture hat is the one that instantly springs to mind for keeping the sun away and the skin well protected. A hat for the races is often not inclined to be sensible, but what better way to make a little sense by having an extra sun block whilst feeling fantastic.

As I prepare my headwear for the summer holidays, a little steaming maybe required as I reach for my familiar faithful straw. I’m pleased to say the good feel holiday vibes are already here.
