Heading out in January is a great time for the fresh start on those crispy cold mornings along with the wisdom the new year’s wintery month brings.
Reflection of rocketing real highs are always a great pull, providing a positive pace as we position each step. The lower moments maybe an unwelcome loiter, but with the realisation that they provide a valuable lesson, leaving our eyes wide open like the vision of a wise owl.
The Ask Zoe Christmas Small Business Awards was a major event here in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. I am pleased to announce that I won the Content Creation Award for Standout Performance, which was sponsored by South Yorkshire Business, Make a Brew. I had already felt both honoured and humbled to be selected amongst such a talented list. It had been great to read….
“This award shines a spotlight on storytellers, innovators, and digital creators who inspire, educate, and entertain through the art of content.
From powerful messages to creative visuals — your voices are shaping conversations and driving inspiration across platforms.
Congratulations to all our finalists! Your creativity, authenticity, and impact continue to raise the bar for content creation everywhere”.
So, you can imagine how wonderful it was to win.
I was also the sponsor for the Creative Bee Award, having been last year’s winner. It was great to pass on my crown to Raychel McGuin, an Artist and Author, who will wear it so well. As well as presenting Raychel with the Award, I gave her my latest fascinator design in purple and pink. A fitting gift for a business that thrives on colour.
Finding time for new experiences rekindled my childhood love of poetry. A poem I had written was selected to be published in “Ourselves Reflected Back” A FLUX Rotherham Spread the Word Anthology.
On a personal note, I had the opportunity to watch my grandchildren perform at the Royal Albert Hall. The Silkstone Common Group, from Barnsley were the youngest group there.
Making time of course is the greatest challenge and remains the greatest gift of all. So, for those of you who choose to have your headwear designed and made by me, please remember I need 10 weeks’ notice.
I do however have a small selection of limited edition ready to wear available.
Finally, it’s time to wish you all Happy New Year and “Hats Off” to all the small businesses out there!
